Flower of the Day - yesterday's Mystery Flower revealed!
Flower of the Day Sturt's Desert Pea, Swainsona formosa
This flower is found naturally in the desert areas of central Australia. Because it is suited to a desert climate, it is difficult to grow in home gardens, although recently some new varieties have been developed for this purpose. Apart from this red and black spot variety, it can be found in white, pink and all red. Sturt's Desert Pea is also the floral emblem of the Australian state of South Australia.

Flower of the Day - Gum blossom
White Gum Blossom photographed in Kalamunda, Western Australia.
I think these are blossoms of the Tasmanian Blue Gum, Eucalyptus globulis. Australian Geographic magazine have a neat guide to Australian Gum blossoms, beautifully illustrated by Bronwyn King.

Flower of the Day - Sasanqua Beatrice Emily
Today's flower is a delicate Sasanqua Beatrice Emily from my garden.
It's a double flower - the inner petals are white and the outer petals are white tinged with violet.
These flowers are medium sized - about 5cm across.
I identified this variety from the Camellia Gallery on the Camellia Glen website
