These glossy red Clivea seed pods are wonderfully festive looking. I like to use them in flower arrangements, that is, if I can pick them before the possums start eating them!

Red is a colour associated with festivities, physical energy, survival and sexuality. Some ways to add more red in your life could be:
  • wear red clothing
  • accessorise your home with red - cushions, throws
  • sleep in red sheets
  • wear red lipstick
  • eat red foods - strawberries, cherries, cranberry juice and beetroot
  • carry or wear a red stone such as ruby or garnet

Cliveas or Kaffir lilies are originally from South Africa. They have smooth dark green foliage and flowers which may be apricot, orange, yellow, scarlet or white. After the flowers wilt, they develop into beautiful crimson red berries.
