Colourful Yellow Daisy

 Continuing this week's theme of colourful flowers, we have today this bright yellow daisy!

Colourful Purple Blue Tibouchina

I saw these purple-blue Tibouchinas when I was out walking on the weekend.  In real life it was more purplish, but it has come up more blue in the photo.  Tibouchinas in flower are a reminder that it is Autumn in Sydney.

 Glorious purple Tibouchina flower, the colour set off by the deep green foliage.  Nice texture on these leaves, too.

 A raindrop soaked Camellia sasanqua bud - after a rain soaked week in Sydney.

 It must be Autumn - the Azaleas have started flowering.

 Look at these complementary colours - deep green and crimson.  Just gorgeous!

Pink Single Sasanqua

 It's Sasanqua week on Flower of the day!  Here is a beautiful single pink sasanqua - with one layer of petals. There are also double and triple flowered varieties available which have extra petals.

White Sasanqua

It's March! To me, that means it's Sasanqua time.  These delicate camellias mark the beginning of Autumn in Sydney. Sasanquas are popular hedge shrubs with their deep green glossy foliage and abundant Autumn flowering.  This one was peeking over our back fence from our neigbours' house.

Happy International Women’s Day (IWD). This years theme for IWD is to choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively we can create an inclusive world.

 This gorgeous mini rose is from my garden.  The colour changes from yellow to pink and white as the petals open.
