Candle Banksia

Banksia Spinulosa - also called "Hairpin Banksia". These shrubs are native to the Eastern states of Australia.  They make great cut flowers if you are lucky enough to have one in your garden.

Purple Hydrangea


I was surprised to see this Hydrangea last weekend.  Being April, we are well into the Autumn season in Sydney, and these flowers have usually disappeared by the end of  Summer.

White Gardenia


Gardenias are one of my all time favourite flowers, mainly because of their gorgeous perfume.  Interestingly gardenias are part of the Coffee plant family, Rubiaceae.  They smell nothing like coffee though!

I'm not sure the name of this Grevillea but I'm guessing it might be Grevillea juniperina.

Grevillea lanigera


This Australian native is also called "Woolly Grevillea" and found only in the states of NSW and Victoria.
