Flower of the Week - Crepe Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica)


These beautiful flowering trees produce ruffled flowers with a delicate crepe paper-like appearance. They flower in Summer. We're having a whole week of them on Flower of the Day, because they're just so gorgeous at the moment.

The Colours of Summer - Flower of the Day - Red "Gum Blossom"

Corymbia ficifolia. These trees, native to Western Australia used to be included in the Eucalyptus group, but have since been reclassified into the new Corymbia genus.
