Message - Inner guidance towards your life purpose

I noticed these dahlias in a neighbour's garden. Dahlias are flowers that don't seem to mind the cold and are happy to bloom in Winter, despite being originally from Mexico. There are literally hundreds of varieties - in different colours and forms such as pom pom, peony, anemone and star shaped.

A Yellow Rose on a Winters Day

Flower of the Day - Yellow rose
Message - Positive and uplifting thoughts

No matter how cold or gloomy it is in Winter in Sydney, there is always something beautiful in the garden. Feeling a bit gloomy myself, I was cheered to find this beautiful yellow rose in my garden. Yellow is such an optimistic colour. Even better, this type of rose changes colour as it opens. Stay tuned for more pictures!

Flower of the Day - Lambertia (Mountain devil)

Flower of the Day - Lambertia (Mountain Devil)
Message - Things will work out for the best

Lambertia formosa, or Mountain Devil is a beautiful Australian native shrub occurring naturally in New South Wales bushland. This unusual flower consists of seven pinkish red flowers (about 4 cm in length) enclosed in a ring of red-green bracts.  It is wonderful to see this flower reappearing in bushland.  For many years it was rare and almost disappeared entirely because people collected the distinctive seed pods (shaped like horned devil's heads) as souveniers. It is now illegal to collect these flowers, or their seeds from nature reserves or bushland. Photograph taken in bushland north of Sydney.
